Holding Civil Rights Leaders and Organizations Accountable
We work to ensure that National Civil Rights Organizations (NCRO) follow their Constitutions and Bylaws and provide due process to their members.
About Us
Empowering Communities. Reforming Institutions. Defending Integrity.
The 21st Century Accountability Project is a watchdog initiative committed to ensuring that institutions—especially those with a mission to defend civil and human rights—operate with transparency, ethical leadership, and true accountability.
Founded to challenge internal abuses within National Civil Rights Organizations (NCROs), our work has since expanded to encompass systemic oversight of non-profits, public agencies, and advocacy groups. We expose organizational misconduct, defend whistleblowers, and advocate for due process and fair representation—starting from within the very institutions entrusted to champion justice.
We believe that institutions must live up to the values they promote. That means protecting not only the communities they serve, but also the voices within who demand reform, transparency, and fairness.

Institutional Accountability
We investigate and call out unethical practices, retaliation, and leadership misconduct in institutions that have failed their missions. Whether it’s a civil rights organization or a non-profit, we ensure rules are followed and leadership is held responsible.

Transparent Governance
Democracy BEST thrives in the glare of FULL sunlight. We push organizations to be transparent about decision-making processes, financial reporting, and how they handle internal complaints—especially when those complaints come from loyal members.

Due Process & Member Protection
When civil rights organizations ignore their own bylaws or silence dissent, they betray their purpose. We support individuals who have been excluded, punished, or mistreated for standing up for fairness. Our goal is to restore their voices and protect their rights.

Civil Rights from the Inside Out
We believe that to fight injustice in the world, we must first eliminate it within our own institutions. Our work extends beyond any one organization or leader—we aim to restore trust, promote reform, and ensure that the movement for justice begins at home.
